Trying to save money suuuuucks!

Right now I'm trying to pay off my credit card bill which skyrocketed during the Christmas season and so I'm trying to cut down on my spending to pay it off. i didn't really realize how much it can cost just to go out and walk around. In an effort to have fun on a budget me and some friends went to City Walk last night, just to get out of our apartments but not do anything too crazy. It ended up costing us $10 just to park and when we got there all the stores were closing and it was super cold out. We stayed for all of 20 minutes before we just got back in the car and went to Target to kill time, since it was the only thing up. Not including gas money our little "free" trip cost us each about $15 which we could've just used to go see a movie or saved up for when we had some money to go shopping. All this leads to one thing: Sun, if you're listening, you really need to come out more so I can go to the beach and not worry about all this!

Lily Allen

Is my new favorite artist! I just got her CD (and I hardly ever actually buy a CD) and it rocks my world. It's easy to listen to yet really upbeat and fun. On top of that she's got great style and a kick ass music video... the last time I was so enthusiastic about an artist was probably back in my NSync days!
PS Lance Bass you're still my favorite member and you being gay is only a slight set back in our master plan to get married

I'm pretty sure I just figured out when myspace will become uncool

When your parents start making profiles. Yup, that's right, my mom now has a myspace page. She asked me to help her set it up a few weeks ago complete with a profile song (Rick James "Superfreak" is case you were wondering,) pictures of her, background, the whole thing. Now she can check up on me through my myspace profile and see what pictures I have up or what my friends are saying to me. I think once this starts happening more frequently people are going to delete their myspace, just try telling your parents you love going to class only to find out the read your comments on myspace and know you went to the beach that day instead.... not fun.

If yahoo messenger and AIM got in fight yahoo messenger would OWN

Recently my friend turned me on to yahoo messenger cause it's the only way people can talk to her at work and since then I've forced all my friends to get on that thing too. The smiley faces on yahoo messenger are the best, they're annimated and have tons more options. I also love the little buzz feature which alerts the person you're talking to, to pay attention (it's perfect for annoying the girls I live with.) There is also a web chat feature and you can change the names on your buddy list to what every you want, so it will tell you, your friend Stinky McSmell-a-lot is online. Best thing ever!

Roommate update

So as I've already mentioned I share a room with a crazy person. Well, its only gotten worse... On Thursday my roommate had my car towed FROM MY OWN SPOT! She claimed she had never seen it before and didn't know who it belong to and that I was parking in her spot. THEN the next day her dad came to remove all the furniture in the apartment that was her's, which happens to include the bed I sleep on. That was sure nice to come back to, and I ended up having to move a mattress at 2 in the morning so I could have somewhere to sleep. The good news is now I have my own room and hopefully the crazy won't be coming back anytime soon.

Hi my name is Jessica....

And I'm a Perez-a-holic. I just can't get enough of it! I find myself checking it right when I wake up and right before I go to bed. Interning in a PR firm that deals with a lot of celebrity press and seeing what goes into booking a magazine cover or getting a feature article, I love that there is no presmission or anything required to get onto PerezHilton.com. He can pretty much say whatever he wants and even post some of the press releases that the publists issue on his website. I think this actually gives the public a much better understanding of what REALLY is going on in the celebirty world, and even when he does put a celebrity down it just makes them appear more human and I for one am willing to be more forgiving of that celebrities actions. Showing celebirties in this human light and cutting through all the quotes and statements they issue which are often no more than just a quote a celebrity publists made up and sent to a media outlet, really gives people a better picture of the inter-working of the industry. I <3 Perez!

Living situation

So I'm currently trying to figure out where I'll be living next year as the rates in the buliding I am currently in have gone up so much that I would be paying close to a thousand dollars a month to share a bedroom. As much as I like living across the street from campus I sure don't like it THAT much. Which means I'm on craigs list every day seaching for bulidings or houses or anything so that I have a roof over my head next year. By doing this I realized i can have my own room in a 3 bedroom house for about the same I am paying in rent right now to share a room (although my roommate hasnt come back all semester...see previous posts on her.) Its so crazy that all these USC students are so willing to pay for an apartment just to be close to campus when they could really be getting so much for their money by moving a little bit further away and renting a house or apartment. I guess what they say is true... location, location, location

And Im back..

From Spring Break that is which is rough. It really was like a mini summer break and all it did was make me want to be done with this semester and actually be on summer break. Its always the same, I plan on catching up on all my school work over break and put things off leading up to it knowing that of course I will work on it over break. Then break actually does come along and I do nothing. I dont even see friends I was planning on seeing. I do nothing. No going to the movies with long lost pals, cleaning out my room, fun raod trips, catching up on reading. Nothing. Just sitting and watching TV taking long naps and getting nothing achomplished. Then I get to come back and actually do all the stuff I had put off. Soooo much fun!

I called it!

I posted a while back about overalls being my must have pick for Spring, and I've finally found the pair I've been dreaming of. Only problem is they're $185 and I already got a cheap pair for $30 about a month ago. I guess we all can't be as fasionable as we'd like, but lets hope my tax refund is enough to convinve my mom that this would be a wise purchase and that I deserve it... I mean just look how cute they are!

I just discovered flickr!

How could I have lived my whole photo sharing life without this site??? It soooo much better than photobucket, cause now I can upload more than one picture at a time, organize them super easily and even email certain albums to friends. Wow I sound like a commercial for this site but it really is my new obsession along with the Photobooth feature on Macs, I still haven't gotten over that one, the people at Apple are my heros!

Spring Break is in the air

up, its a few degrees warmer outside, there are people yelling and walking around at every time of the day and night in my apartment complex, and all the students you see are a little bit loopy after just having finished up midterms and papers. Once I am done with class for the day, I too am going to join in on all the fun I've been watching everyone else have. Even though I am just going home to relax and watch TV all day long, I am just as excited about doing that as I would be about a Cancun vacation paid for by MTV. I cannot wait to just sleep and know there is absolutly nothing I have to do the next day but lay out by the pool and maybe start the paper I have due when I get back

Two of my favorite things have finally combined

Ice Cream and Stephen Colbert. Yup, that's right Ben and Jerry's have joined forced with Colbert to create a new ice cream flavor Americone Dream. The Ben and Jerry's website says, "The flavor, Stephen Colbert’s AmeriCone Dream™ is a decadent melting pot of vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl. It’s the sweet taste of liberty in your mouth."

Have you ever been sucked under by a wave?

You're just playing around in the ocean and all of the sudden you get caught up in a big wave, tumbled around a little bit and then spit back out, leaving you feeling shaken, disoriented, and wondering what just happened to you. I think that is the closest I can get to describing how I feel ever time I get back from a visit from Santa Barabara. I go there for a weekend, just a few days and everything seems normal at the time. Sure there is a lot of spinning around but nothing seems too out of the ordinary while you're walking along DP going from stanger's house to stranger's house with your close friends from high school and a bunch of random people who you just met, but promise you're best friends with cause you guys totally have so much in common. It's all fun and games until you take the 2 hour drive back to USC and have a pounding headache and wonder why you have so many bruises on your legs. I have a lot of respect for those kids at UCSB who manage to do this all the time and still go to class and actually get work done. I have no idea how they can keep doing it but they are by the ocean, and I guess they just get used to the waves.

OH NO, OH NO EVERYBODY LOOK OUT....

.....ITS A MAC ATTACK!!!!! So there is a built in camera on iMacs that lets you take pictures right on your computer and do all sorts of weird effects to them. Sounds pretty simply but, it is in fact, the best invention ever made. My mom, bff Rochelle, and I were in front of my mom's computer for a good 2 hours and took a total of 83 pictures on this things. During this time, my mom literally peed her pants from laughing so hard. I LOVE technology!

I <3 Roommates

So I live in a 3 bedroom 6 person apartment, all girls. With those kinds of numbers you would expect there to be some serious drama, and there is, but really only with one of the girls. I just so happen to be the lucky person who shares a room with this girl, who over the course of the semester has bad-mouthed me to all the other roommates and, as we later came to find out, was bad-mouthing all of the other roomates to each of us. Having lived with her for 3 years now, I get the brunt of the blow as she proceded to drunkenly hook-up with my high school crush on my birthday, in our own room, locking me out so I was forced to sleep on the couch, along with telling people I had an obsession with exercise (yes, I've run a marathon but I have yet to hear any doctors tell me that's bad for m body,) and then randomly tell me the day before my birthday (in September) that I owe her $400 and was expected to somehow come up with it that day. She had known about these charges, which were for our apartment in the 2005/2006 year for at least 3 months and then just brought them up one day unexplained and expecting the money. After she forced me into agruing the issue in front of all the other roomates at the beginning of school before I even had a chance to get to know them, I got so frusterated that I left her a check for the $400 just so I could call it even and never talk to her again. Well now, a good 5 months after this, she sends me a letter in the mail, to the apartment where we SHARE A ROOM with copies of paperwork from 2005 saying that I now owe $754 and that the $400 was an arbutrary amount I made up and she refuses to cash checks out of spite and if I fail to pay this money she will take legal action against me. This after she makes me pay another $400 for a parking spot in a parking structure across from our bulding and then never uses the spot that is in our building, but for the 10 minutes she is in the apartment yells at me to move my car (I had not parked in the structure but in the spot in out building) and then leaves, never parking in the spot and has been gone now for a full week. So, when we get a knock on the door last night from someone looking for her, the other roomates and I were a little curious. Turnes out, my roommate had hit this girls car 3 weeks ago down in our parking area and her dad was going to pay her off in cash as to not go through insurance. Only afer weeks she hadn't gotten any money and my roommate and roommate's dad stop returning her calls. Luckily there is footage of her hitting the car from security cameras and luckily she left a copy of her drivers licence number in our room, which we happily copied and gave to the girl. Its just so great when "friends" try to sue you for money you owe them and don't even do the same for others. :)
